Deb Hymers has been an educator for 27 years and is now using her experiences to educate and train others to deliver ‘NSTEP Eat Walk Live to other communities. Deb uses her endless energy and drive to take an active role in preventing obesity in children and youths.

Deanna is a student at the University of Calgary in the combined nursing and kinesiology program. She began with NSTEP as a kinesiology practicum student, working with NSTEP has furthered her passion for community health. Deanna enjoys working with children and health promotion, she is very excited to be able to do this with the NSTEP team.

Megan is passionate about helping people make positive changes in their lives, 'NSTEP EAT WALK LIVE is the easy button to accomplish this. Being active has so many positive benefits beyond just losing weight, or looking good - people are more productive, get ill less often, have a more positive attitude and, as a side benefit you are healthier!

Alejandra is finishing her combined degree in Business and Kinesiology at the University of Calgary and was a 'NSTEP practicum student, Spring 2011. She believes leading a healthy lifestyle, high quality and fulfilling life. Alejandra is an asset to 'NSTEP and brings her many skills to be part of the positive change in educating children to create healthier communities and futures.
Fahreen's 5 years of experience in pediatric nursing has ignited a passion for health promotion starting with children. Fahreen found 'NSTEP EAT WALK LIVE to be a prefect program to help children and their families make positive changes in their lives. Welcome Fahreen to your school community!

Amy started with ‘NSTEP as a U of Calgary practicum student. The placement inspired her to pursue public health and a way to communicate the valuable lessons and habits of activity and nutrition to students and adults. She was a 4-year college basketball player and continues to coach and work with children in camps and teams. She loves working with kids and is excited to be a part of the ‘NSTEP program.

A passion for sports has been a significant part of Dawn’s life. Her experience with ‘NSTEP start as a U Calgary practicum student which ignited her passion for health promotion with children. Darlene is a Registered Nurse, with extensive experience in health care leadership, project planning and change management. Cathy has 25 years of teaching experience in Elementary/Secondary in BC, as well as supervision and instruction of student teachers at UBC. She has taught adults, youth and children, facilitating workshops in the community and camp settings implementing Family Life Education, Olympics of the Mind and the Operation Respect Programs across Canada. Her passion, enthusiasm, and dedication to motivate students, teachers and parents to reach their potential through encouraging healthy lifestyles make her an excellent fit with ‘NSTEP Eat Walk Live!

Wendy-Lee's passion for health and fitness inspired her to obtain a diploma in Advanced Nutrition. She has many years of experience as a nutrition educator in school settings and is thrilled to be working with the 'NSTEP team in BC. Wendy Lee is also nutritional consultant for the Surrey United HPL Soccer Club.

Jenn’s passion for sailing inspired her to pursue kinesiology in university, and as a practicum student in Calgary she had her first experience with ‘NSTEP. As a coach and former junior national team sailor, she knows the importance of eating well and being active everyday. Jenn’s 9 years of coaching experience has taught her the importance of being creative to motivate students. Her love of teaching and inspiring others to engage in a healthy lifestyle makes her a great fit for ‘NSTEP Eat Walk Live.
Ontario
Dr. Battram is currently an Assistant Professor in the Division of Food and Nutritional Sciences at Brescia University College. Her research interests include community-based nutrition and physical activity programming for obesity prevention and management in adults and children. Through Dr. Battram's involvement in 'NSTEP Eat Walk Live, her students will be provided with a variety of experiential learning opportunities that will better prepare them for their future professional careers as Registered Dietitians.
